Commonly known for its strong minty scent, peppermint oil is said to promote skin health. This oil is recognized for being antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory, and may help to soothe or reduce the symptoms of certain skin conditions. Applying peppermint oil topically may cleanse skin and keep it clear, especially in those with oily skin types.
To use peppermint oil to for skin, dilute one or two drops into at least twelve drops of a carrier oil. From there, use the mixture as a spot treatment onto areas affected by acne or massage it lightly into your face.
Leave it on for 20 minutes or overnight, depending on what your skin tolerates. Be sure to perform a patch test before use, as peppermint oil can irritate sensitive skin.
